Job Description
The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is one of the world's leading environmental organizations, dedicated to protecting the lands and waters upon which all life depends. Founded in 1951, TNC has grown from a small grassroots nonprofit into a global powerhouse in conservation, backed by over 1 million members and more than 400 scientists. Their mission centers on creating innovative, science-based solutions to address some of the planet's toughest environmental challenges. By promoting a world where people and nature thrive together, TNC embodies a deep respect for all people, communities, and cultures. The organization is known not just for its impact on conservation but also for fostering an inclusive, supportive workplace that champions diversity, values each individual's contributions, and prioritizes professional growth and well-being. This commitment is reflected in their comprehensive benefits package and flexible work environment designed to support the health and balance of their employees.
The Donor Engagement & Events Coordinator role at The Nature Conservancy plays a pivotal part in advancing the organization's fundraising and donor relations efforts. This position focuses on creating meaningful donor experiences that deepen engagement and foster a culture of philanthropy. Tasked with coordinating a range of events and stewardship activities—from intimate salons and exclusive gatherings to large-scale fundraisers—the coordinator ensures each touchpoint resonates authentically with donors and prospects. By managing end-to-end event logistics, producing engaging content, and maintaining clear communication with internal teams, this role supports frontline fundraisers in cultivating strong, lasting relationships. The position requires meticulous project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities with professionalism. Additionally, the role involves drafting donor-appropriate communications and briefing materials, preparing leadership and staff for donor interactions, and working within budgets while coordinating vendors. The coordinator benefits from hybrid work arrangements, typically spending time at the Reno office, and occasionally requires evening or weekend availability to support donor events.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and brings proven expertise in producing high-touch, donor-centric events with a focus on personalized engagement strategies. Familiarity with philanthropic cultures, especially within Northern and Southern Nevada regions including Las Vegas and Reno/Sparks/Carson City areas, is desirable. Proficiency with donor databases and office productivity tools, combined with excellent communication skills and an ability to collaborate across teams, will enable success in this dynamic position. The Nature Conservancy values diversity and inclusion, seeking candidates who bring unique talents and experiences that contribute to the mission. Salary for this role ranges from $71,500 to $80,000 annually within the USA, influenced by factors such as location and experience. Ultimately, joining The Nature Conservancy as a Donor Engagement & Events Coordinator offers a rewarding opportunity to support impactful environmental work through meaningful donor relationships and innovative event strategies.
