LifeGift is currently seeking a Donation Communications Coordinator for the night shift who wants to embark on a meaningful career journey. This position involves receiving all incoming calls from referring hospitals, Medical Examiners, Justices of the Peace, and EMS teams regarding potential donors. The role requires thorough donor screening, qualification, and effective coordination of donation cases. The Donation Communications Coordinator will direct referrals to the appropriate organ or specialist teams, communicate sensitively with donor families, handle necessary regulatory paperwork, and meticulously document all relevant events. This is a vital role that ensures smooth communication between various stakeholders, including transplant centers, medical directors, transportation services, funeral homes, and donation organizations.

This full-time night shift role operates from 10:00 pm to 10:00 am and offers a 100% remote work opportunity, making it accessible to qualified candidates from surrounding states. Ideal applicants are individuals with at least two years of experience in healthcare, call center environments, social services, or death care industries who possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to manage high-pressure situations with professionalism. Job Requirements

  • associate degree or medical vocational certificate required
  • 2 years of equivalent experience may be substituted for education
  • bachelors degree preferred
  • minimum 2 years experience in healthcare, call center, social services or death care industries
  • ability to work 10:00 pm to 10:00 am shift
  • ability to work remotely
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • answer all incoming phone calls from donor service area
  • input all required medical history information for prospective donors into communication center for donation referral intake database
  • facilitate communication between transplant centers and medical directors
  • relay necessary information and messages to and from transportation service, funeral homes, medical examiners, hospitals, donation organizations and donor families
  • perform tissue donor screening, qualification and coordination of cases
  • handle regulatory paperwork accurately
  • document all appropriate events
