Job Description

McDonald's is one of the world's leading global foodservice retailers, known for its commitment to quality, service, cleanliness, and value. With thousands of company-owned and independent franchisee-operated restaurants globally, McDonald's has become a household name recognized for its iconic menu items and innovative customer experiences. The company strives to create opportunities for growth and development among its employees, fostering a culture of teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement.

This position is for a Department Manager role within a McDonald's restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not McDonald's Corporation or McDonald's USA, LLC. This distinction means that the franchisee is solely responsible for all employment-related decisions, including hiring, firing, and scheduling. The Department Manager plays a vital role in ensuring that every guest receives a fast, accurate, and friendly experience every time they visit. This job involves leadership responsibilities that extend beyond shift management to overseeing key departments such as Guest Service, Kitchen, or People. Each department manager has specialized duties that contribute to the restaurant's overall success. For example, a Guest Service Department Manager focuses on training staff in service standards and managing drive-thru and front counter operations to optimize customer satisfaction and sales promotions. The Kitchen Department Manager emphasizes food quality, safety, cost control, and staff training on production procedures, including new menu items. The People Department Manager's responsibilities include recruiting qualified team members, organizing training programs, and ensuring staffing levels meet sales and profitability goals while fostering employee motivation and recognition.

The role requires strong organizational skills, leadership abilities, and a dedication to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient environment. Department Managers must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, cleaning, and standing for long periods. They must also be certified by ServSafe and have completed McDonald's training classes. Being part of this team means joining a drug-free workplace committed to safety and compliance. This role offers individuals a chance to build a satisfying career with potential for advancement within the McDonald's system, supported by consistent training and a collaborative work culture.
