Job Description

Panda Express is a leading name in the American Chinese restaurant industry, operating as part of the Panda Restaurant Group, which also includes Panda Inn and Hibachi-San. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept across America. With nearly 2,400 locations globally and expanding by over 100 restaurants annually, Panda Express is a trusted destination for high-quality Asian dining experiences. The company is committed to fostering a family-like environment that inspires growth, both professionally and personally, for its associates while delivering exceptional guest experiences. Panda Express is recognized as one of America's Best Employers and is certified as a Great Place to Work. It was also named the safest restaurant chain in the US during the pandemic, underscoring its commitment to safety and employee well-being.

The role of a General Manager at Panda Express offers a unique opportunity to embrace an entrepreneurial spirit within a fast-paced and dynamic environment. As a General Manager, you will oversee a restaurant business valued between $1 million and $2 million. This position involves leading and developing your team to deliver top-tier guest satisfaction while running a profitable and efficiently managed restaurant. Responsibilities include everything from hiring and managing associates to achieving financial goals and maintaining operational excellence. The General Manager will create their own success story by driving sales growth and fostering a culture of high performance and guest-centric service.

To prepare for this role, all Panda Express leaders participate in a comprehensive Store Leadership Training Program lasting more than six weeks. This training builds foundational leadership skills across several key areas: People Development, Guest Experience, Financial Acumen, Kitchen Management, and Operations. Specifically, the program equips managers with the ability to hire, train, coach, and develop talent, uphold food quality and guest service standards, understand sales and cost management for profit growth, ensure food safety and maintain product inventory, as well as enforce cleanliness and safety standards while adhering to company policies and procedures.

In addition to a rewarding career path, Panda Express offers a best-in-class compensation package that includes a competitive starting salary with potential earnings over $100,000 per year through bonuses. The company also provides medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, paid holidays, associate discounts for dining and theme parks, and a lucrative referral bonus program. Managers receive ongoing career and leadership development to support their growth within the organization.

Panda Express represents not just a job but a chance to join a vibrant company culture where associates are valued as part of a genuine family environment. The company’s mission to deliver exceptional dining experiences aligns with its dedication to improving the lives of its people and communities. For ambitious leaders ready to take on a challenging and rewarding managerial role, Panda Express offers an unmatched platform to thrive and make a meaningful impact.
