The Dishwasher role, also known at IHOP as Dish Machine Operator (DMO), plays a vital behind-the-scenes part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant. This position involves cleaning and maintaining all dishware and utensils used throughout the dining service, a task essential to maintaining hygiene and efficiency in the kitchen and dining areas. DMOs also assist in assigned sanitation and housekeeping duties, contributing to a clean and safe working environment. The role requires standing for extended periods, the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive manual tasks using full mobility of hands and arms. Communication skills and teamwork are also important as the DMO helps coordinate with other staff members to support the overall hospitality environment. This position reports to the acting supervisor and complies with both governmental regulations and internal company policies.
