Headquartered in Reading, Pennsylvania, Penske is dedicated to excellence and committed to ensuring customer success across a wide range of industries. With a robust presence in the vehicle maintenance and fleet management sector, Penske provides services that help companies and individuals keep their businesses and operations moving efficiently and effectively. Known for its strong emphasis on safety, quality, and customer experience, Penske continues to be a trusted partner in the transportation industry, offering career opportunities that value professional growth and teamwork.

The role of District Service Manager (DSM) at Penske is a key leadership position based at the Penske facility located at 51 Boulden Blvd in New Castle, Delaware. As a DSM, you will oversee multiple district locations, ensuring that they are properly resourced and comply with company policies, procedures, and safety standards. This position requires building and leading a motivated team of Branch Service Managers (BSMs) who collectively aim to achieve departmental goals while providing exceptional customer service and operational excellence.

Your responsibilities will include managing the hiring, training, development, and performance of your district team to sustain high levels of operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction. You will be expected to conduct location reviews, implement consistent policies, manage costs, and analyze data with the goal of maximizing fleet performance and warranty recovery. Through strong leadership and communication, including in-person meetings and conference calls, you will ensure flawless execution of company processes and proactively identify improvement opportunities.

This role demands a deep understanding of vehicle maintenance, including critical components such as engines, drive trains, air brakes, cooling systems, electrical systems, accessories, suspension, and tires. Your expertise will enable you to provide technical training and lead root cause analysis for ongoing fleet optimization. The DSM will also foster key relationships with approved suppliers and ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and company safety policies.

The ideal candidate will bring between five to ten years of maintenance and leadership experience, including at least three years in a supervisory role. A technical or associate degree is preferred, with additional certifications such as Six Sigma or ISO quality programs considered a plus. Proficiency in computer software like Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint will support day-to-day operations and reporting.

Working as a District Service Manager at Penske is both demanding and rewarding. It requires physical stamina to perform duties like frequent movement, standing, climbing, and handling tools safely. The role is safety-sensitive and calls for the ability to work in all weather conditions, maintain high levels of alertness on the job, and comply with all relevant safety standards.

Penske values equal opportunity employment and offers a professional environment where associates can grow their careers while contributing to a company that is committed to innovation, safety, and customer success.
