Job Description

BiRite Foodservice Distributors is a distinguished third-generation, family-owned company that has been a cornerstone of the foodservice industry since 1966. Serving the greater Bay Area and Sacramento, BiRite has built a reputation for delivering complete foodservice solutions that emphasize unsurpassed service quality, timely deliveries, and competitive pricing. The company prides itself on its commitment to community service and maintaining high standards that have made it one of the leading foodservice partners in the region. BiRite’s success is founded on trust, quality products, and responsive customer support, ensuring that they meet the diverse needs of the foodservice market effectively and reliably.

The District Sales Representative role at BiRite Foodservice Distributors is pivotal in expanding the company’s market presence and fostering strong customer relationships. This full-time, regular, exempt position offers a salary range of $80,000 to $110,000, depending on experience. The role requires a dynamic professional who can not only sell and promote BiRite’s extensive product range but also engage with new and existing clients to drive revenue growth and enhance customer satisfaction. Reporting directly to the District Sales Manager, the District Sales Representative acts as a vital link between BiRite and its clients, ensuring the company’s standards are upheld in every business interaction.

This position involves a blend of strategic sales initiatives and hands-on customer engagement. The District Sales Representative is responsible for achieving sales goals, opening new accounts through effective cold calling, and managing and growing existing accounts by understanding customer needs and delivering tailored product solutions. Regular in-person visits are essential, as they provide opportunities for product demonstrations, promotional activities, and relationship building. Timely and accurate communication is critical, encompassing everything from responding swiftly to customer inquiries and processing orders to managing pending items and addressing concerns.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate initiative, urgency, and a strong commitment to managing multiple priorities without compromising customer service quality. This role demands excellent time management, organizational capabilities, and interpersonal skills, enabling representatives to work independently and collaboratively within the BiRite team. A background in culinary or hospitality fields is advantageous, providing insight into the specific needs of foodservice clients and enhancing the representative’s ability to serve the market effectively.

Physically, the District Sales Representative position requires endurance to handle significant time spent driving within busy Bay Area traffic, standing for extended periods, and occasionally carrying or lifting weights up to 50 pounds during meetings or promotional events. Candidates must be prepared for frequent typing, phone communication, and email correspondence, which also demand dexterity and stamina.

Work conditions include a customer-facing environment where excellent service from warehouse to the front door is non-negotiable. The role requires driving in various weather conditions and travel within and beyond the assigned territory. Sunday availability and the possibility of working some holidays are part of the schedule, reflecting the company’s commitment to meeting customer needs whenever they arise.

BiRite Foodservice Distributors offers a comprehensive benefits package to support employee well-being, including health, dental, and vision insurance available after a 60-day introductory period, plus health savings and flexible spending accounts. Additional benefits include an employee assistance program, a 401(k) plan with employer matching after six months of service, paid time off and holidays, employee anniversary bonuses, employer-paid basic life and AD&D insurance, voluntary life and AD&D insurance options, and profit sharing after one year of service.

As an equal opportunity employer, BiRite values diversity and inclusion in the workforce, fostering a professional environment where all employees can thrive. The company encourages applicants who reside within reasonable commuting distance of the district or who are willing to relocate to apply, ensuring operational efficiency and team cohesion.
