The District Sales Manager (DSM) plays a pivotal role within Guest Worldwide, tasked with leading all sales activities within an assigned district. This role involves direct leadership and development of Sales Consultants (SCs) who report directly to the DSM. It requires a strategic and hands-on approach to managing district sales operations to meet and exceed sales targets and profitability goals aligned with the company's mission and vision. The DSM acts as a mentor and coach for the sales team, participating directly in sales calls and client interactions to sharpen sales skills and foster high performance. In addition to supervising sales consultants, the DSM collaborates closely with various operational departments such as credit and collections, distribution, customer service, and business development, ensuring a seamless and customer-focused experience. With accountability for recruiting, training, territory assignments, and setting annual sales quotas, the DSM is instrumental in driving growth through new client acquisitions and by maximizing existing client relationships. This role demands strong leadership, communication, project management, and negotiation skills. Travel within the district for client meetings and company events is a regular requirement as part of delivering comprehensive sales leadership and customer service. This position is home office-based, offering the flexibility of remote work while maintaining necessary technology and a professional work environment to manage sales operations effectively. The role may occasionally require evening and weekend work to meet customer demand and operational schedules, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of experience successfully growing profitable sales in the B2B market segment
  • 2-3 years field and/or virtual sales experience
  • Experience managing a remote sales team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities
  • Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects
  • Proficient in financial concepts related to pricing and forecasting
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office and sales software
  • Ability to travel within assigned district
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and automobile insurance
  • Must have a dedicated home office space with required software for remote work
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field and/or equivalent work experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Work directly with the sales consultants in the field and virtually by assisting on sales calls while providing constructive feedback to further develop the skill sets of each sales consultant interacting with customer as needed
  • Provide leadership, strategic planning, and monitor all sales activities to ensure the district organization achieves maximum profitability and growth in line with the company vision and goals
  • Work with all operating divisions that support the sales organization to create and ensure a collaborative work environment, including credit and collections, purchasing, distribution, customer service, FF&E, National Accounts, Business Development, Vendors as needed to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Recruit, select, train, assign territories, schedule individual time, coach, counsel, and implement corrective action if necessary for employees in assigned territories
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for district and territories
  • Work closely with sales consultants to project expected sales volume and profit for existing and new properties
  • Ensure that plans are followed by sales consultants to ensure all goals are met
  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or necessary
