The position of Environmental Services District Manager at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, managed by Aramark, is a critical leadership role focused on delivering operational excellence, financial performance, and client satisfaction across multiple sites within a designated geographic district. Typically generating revenue between $12 million to over $30 million, this role demands comprehensive responsibility for overseeing the general management of assigned units, driving growth, managing costs, enhancing productivity, leading people, and meeting financial commitments. The Environmental Services District Manager is accountable for executing key operational strategies aligned with Aramark's standards and ensuring outstanding service delivery to clients and consumers.

This role involves frequent travel to various client sites throughout the district to maintain close operational oversight and foster strong client relationships. Key performance indicators for the position include revenue growth, earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT), margin improvement, consumer satisfaction, client loyalty, and employee engagement. The Environmental Services District Manager leads and mentors teams by setting clear expectations, recognizing achievements, and developing talent to achieve their fullest potential within the organization.

An essential part of the role is establishing and maintaining effective client and customer rapport to create mutually beneficial business relationships. The manager is responsible for monitoring contractual obligations and identifying opportunities within contract terms to address operational challenges and support business retention and growth activities. Financial oversight is a critical component, with the manager responsible for building revenue, managing budgets, and ensuring the accurate completion and maintenance of profit and loss statements within Aramark's systems.

The Environmental Services District Manager champions productivity initiatives, enforcing corporate management agendas for labor and financial operations. This includes applying Aramark's operating standards consistently to guarantee the highest levels of efficiency and supply chain integrity. Compliance with safety, health, wage, and hour regulations remains a top priority in fostering a safe and healthy work environment. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5-10 years of leadership experience
  • Experience with P&L responsibility
  • Knowledge of hospitality, retail, facilities management, or food and beverage industries
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lead and develop teams
  • Comfortable with contract management
  • Willingness to travel frequently
  • Ability to manage budgets and financial targets

Job Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience of 5-10 years including P&L responsibility within hospitality, retail, facilities, direct store delivery or food and beverage industries
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with knowledge of management practices, business judgement and client/consumer interaction
  • Ability to hire, assess, develop and grow hard-working talent
  • Comfortable reading, understanding, and implementing contractual requirements
  • Established communication and teamwork skills from front line to leadership
  • Proven success in repeatable business model including leading through change and turnaround initiatives
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Advanced degree in business or related field preferred
