Job Description

HERITA USA is a premier fine wine import company dedicated to bringing a world-class selection of premium and ultra-premium wines to the United States market. The company represents over thirteen acclaimed wineries including Santa Margherita, Torresella, Ca' del Bosco, Masi, ROCO, Kettmeir, Lamole di Lamole, Sassoregale, Sella Antica, Fattoria Sardi, Ca Maiol, Giovanni Rosso, and Cantina Mesa. Its portfolio encompasses a diverse range of the finest wine regions such as Veneto, Alto Adige, Franciacorta, Willamette Valley, Lugana, Tuscany, Sardinia, and Piedmont, reflecting a mosaic of rich viticultural heritage and excellence. HERITA USA is committed to maintaining strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and the on-premise trade to ensure the brands are effectively represented and continue to grow in their respective markets.

The role of District Manager at HERITA USA is a critically important position responsible for managing and expanding the brand portfolio within a designated territory. This role entails developing and nurturing relationships across the three-tier distribution system including distributors, retailers, and on-premise accounts. The District Manager acts as a key ambassador for HERITA USA brands, responsible not only for direct sales and marketing initiatives but also for inspiring and training distributor personnel to maximize sales performance. Each day presents an opportunity to influence market growth by conducting brand presentations, assisting in event activations, and advancing brand education, while supporting the Area Manager in programming quarterly brand activities and preparing business reviews.

A successful candidate will be dynamic and self-motivated, capable of independently navigating the marketplace to call on trade accounts, much of which are on-premise establishments. They will identify new business opportunities, foster enduring trade relationships, and plan and execute consumer-facing events like wine festivals or dinners to boost brand visibility and sales. Expertise in wine knowledge, particularly regarding Italian wines, and the ability to utilize sales data analysis tools such as MicroStrategy and Diver are essential to analyze market trends and identify growth opportunities.

Operating within a fast-paced and competitive environment, the District Manager must exhibit a high degree of originality and creativity in problem-solving while adapting quickly to changing market conditions. Effective communication is vital, requiring the manager to act as a liaison between HERITA USA management, distributors, and trade partners. The position also demands flexibility in scheduling, willingness to travel extensively within the territory, and occasional international travel to Italy as requested by the company. A commitment to the brand's success, combined with passion and knowledge of the wine industry, makes this role both challenging and rewarding for those aspiring to advance their careers in fine wine sales and marketing.
