Job Description
The hiring establishment is a prominent retail company focused on delivering exceptional merchandising services across numerous retail locations. This company is dedicated to creating inviting shopping environments that enhance the overall customer experience through effective merchandising strategies and programs. As a significant player in the retail merchandising service industry, the company prioritizes operational excellence, team performance, and continuous improvement to maintain its standing in the competitive retail marketplace.
The role of District Execution Manager (DEM) is crucial within this organization, as these managers are entrusted with the oversight and successful implementation of all Merchandising Services activities within their assigned districts. This includes managing projects, resets, general service guidelines, and various essential services that impact the overall presentation and performance of the stores under their jurisdiction. DEMs act as the primary communicators between the retail stores, district managers, and suppliers, ensuring alignment and transparency across all merchandising operations. They oversee large teams that operate both during the day and at night, maintaining a high standard of execution in merchandising plans and programs.
District Execution Managers carry significant responsibilities, including hiring, training, and evaluating the performance of their direct reports, which may amount to around 100 associates, supervisors, and managers. This leadership role involves maintaining accountability for key performance metrics such as safety compliance, quality standards, productivity rates, and the timely completion of assigned projects. Additionally, DEMs manage budgeting aspects for their teams, including oversight of payroll, overtime, and associated expenses, balancing operational efficiency with cost control.
In this position, DEMs are expected to engage actively in district meetings, utilizing tools such as the regional captainship program to address both local and national merchandising issues. Their duties involve setting clear expectations for their teams, conducting store visits, monitoring performance reports, and ensuring that all merchandising activities and special projects align with the company’s strategic goals. Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex information effectively to diverse audiences are essential for success in this role.
Furthermore, DEMs are required to travel within their district, occasionally overnight, to ensure comprehensive oversight of the stores they manage. Physical demands include standing or walking continuously and occasionally lifting moderate weights, reflecting the active nature of the role. While the work environment is generally comfortable, there may be exposure to dust, fumes, or odors typical of retail settings.
This full-time position offers the opportunity for experienced leaders to advance their careers in the retail merchandising service industry. It requires at least five years of supervisory or management experience, preferably within large teams or multi-location retail environments. The role demands proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data analysis tools like Tableau, and HRIS software. Strong project management capabilities and a merchandising background are also highly valued. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are mandatory due to the travel requirements of the job.
Overall, the District Execution Manager role is vital to ensuring the smooth operation and success of merchandising services across multiple store locations. It combines leadership, operational management, and strategic execution, making it an ideal opportunity for candidates seeking to make a significant impact in retail merchandising.
