Leidos is currently seeking a Distribution Engineering Supervisor to join their team on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. This role offers a unique leadership opportunity that merges technical expertise with team management within one of the nation's most unique electric utility systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of 5-8 engineers to develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems ranging from 4kV to 138kV. These projects include grid hardening, substation optimization, joint use make ready, and street lighting initiatives. The supervisor will utilize advanced tools such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and Work Management Systems (WMS) to deliver high-quality outputs.

Expected to relocate to Oahu, candidates will enjoy the benefits of living in Hawaii while engaging in meaningful, impactful work supporting local utility clients. This supervisory role requires minimal oversight, demonstrating a high degree of autonomy and leadership. Responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day team assignments, providing technical guidance, training junior engineers and designers, maintaining project scope and schedule, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The position requires interaction with various stakeholders including permitting agencies, right-of-way specialists, system owners, and field personnel. Travel to customer sites and meetings is expected occasionally.

Candidates should have at least 4 years of relevant experience and hold a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline accredited by ABET, with additional certifications or experience considered. Proficiency in NESC standards, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, Bluebeam or Adobe, as well as distribution design tools such as O-Calc and SAG10, is required. Experience with ESRI GIS, BOUD, Pole Foreman, and Spida-Calc is beneficial. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and previous team leadership experience are important for success in this role. Physical ability to work in outdoor environments and use a personal vehicle is necessary, with expected travel of 15-25% including overnight stays.
