Job Description
Tractor Supply and Petsense by Tractor Supply are prominent retail enterprises in the agricultural and pet supply industry, known for providing quality products and services to rural communities and pet owners across the United States. These companies operate with a mission to support lifestyles of rural and suburban customers with a diverse range of goods, services, and expert advice. They pride themselves on creating a supportive environment for their Team Members, who are considered central to the company’s ongoing success and growth. With a commitment to fostering a comprehensive and accessible total reward package, Tractor Supply and Petsense focus on meaningful benefits that support their employees' well-being, both now and in the future. This includes competitive health coverage, family support programs, and development opportunities, designed to meet the varying needs of their workforce.
The Facility Maintenance role at Tractor Supply and Petsense is a vital position within the operational framework of their facilities, tasked with performing periodic maintenance, corrective repairs, replacements, and limited troubleshooting of critical facility equipment and systems. These systems generally include HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety components, and the maintenance work must comply with safety, predictive, and productive maintenance standards and processes. This position operates on a schedule of Saturdays through Mondays, from 6 pm to 6 am, providing essential support during off-peak hours to ensure the optimal functioning and safety of the facilities.
As a Facility Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing maintenance activities that prevent operational disruptions and extend the lifecycle of key facility systems. These activities range from conducting preventative maintenance in line with manufacturers’ guidelines to interpreting complex technical documentation such as schematics and maintenance manuals. Your role also involves troubleshooting issues, executing repairs, maintaining accurate logs of time and materials, and working with computerized maintenance management software to keep facility operations running smoothly. You will also assist with maintenance of material handling equipment, such as forklifts and batteries, contributing to the uptime and productivity of warehouse and distribution operations.
This position requires strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, alongside the ability to work safely within a physically demanding environment subject to temperature variations and the presence of mobile and fixed equipment. The role demands attentiveness to detail, compliance with lockout/tagout protocols and arc flash safety guidelines, and the willingness to perform general maintenance tasks as assigned. Working at Tractor Supply and Petsense means joining a team dedicated not only to operational excellence but also to the support and development of its members across all levels of the company.
