The Dispatcher role at Velocity MSC plays a critical communication and coordination function, acting as the vital link between Velocity's field technicians and customers. The primary responsibility of Dispatchers is to receive service requests and efficiently schedule technicians using Velocity's proprietary database. This position involves verifying technician arrivals at customer sites, negotiating pricing with technicians, and following up on scheduled appointments to ensure seamless operations. Given the nature of the role, strong communication skills are essential, as Dispatchers must handle multiple interactions with professionalism and calmness, even in challenging or high-pressure scenarios. Multi-tasking abilities and taking decisive action independently are also highly valued traits in this role.

This Dispatcher position requires onsite training at Velocity’s office in Holland, Ohio, from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5:30 PM EST. After training, Dispatchers are expected to work one of several shifts, including Monday-Friday 9 AM to 5:30 PM, Tuesday-Saturday 9 AM to 5:30 PM, Tuesday-Saturday 8 AM to 4:30 PM, or Monday-Friday 2 PM to 10:30 PM. Notably, weekend shifts can be worked remotely, providing flexibility. Overall, Dispatchers at Velocity will manage job dispatches sent from customers, schedule appointments with technicians, work to secure job site access, verify technician attendance, recruit technicians for upcoming jobs, and coordinate the delivery of special equipment to job sites.
