Job Description
The Archdiocese of St. Louis is a faith-based organization deeply committed to teaching and sharing the Catholic faith, serving communities, and fostering unity throughout the St. Louis area. Known for its rich history and strong values, the Archdiocese serves as a spiritual, cultural, and administrative hub for Catholics in the region. The Cardinal Rigali Center, located in Shrewsbury, MO, which once formed part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, now functions as the headquarters and governing curia for the Archdiocese. As an influential institution, it focuses on nurturing faith, providing support for its communities, and maintaining an atmosphere where spiritual growth and social responsibility coexist harmoniously.
The Dishwasher/Server role at the Archdiocese of St. Louis offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about service and want to contribute positively to a mission-driven community. This is a full-time position located onsite at the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO. Employees in this role will contribute directly to the welfare of retired priests by helping deliver a warm, enjoyable dining experience in a friendly and respectful environment. As a Dishwasher/Server, you will assist with meal service, prepare cold bar items, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and ensure that the dining area is inviting and comfortable for residents. This role is unique in that it combines teamwork, compassion, and practicality to create a nurturing space for those who have served in the church for many years.
Success in this role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and interpersonal abilities to communicate with retired priests with gentleness and respect. The work schedule includes shifts that total approximately 40 hours per week with meal services provided three times a day, seven days a week, ensuring a steady and engaging work environment. Shifts are typically from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with flexibility based on team needs and individual availability. The Archdiocese values diversity, equal opportunity, and prohibits discrimination or harassment in any form, creating a work environment where all employees feel valued and respected.
Employees in this capacity benefit not only from competitive compensation but also from a range of employee benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for personal and professional growth within a supportive faith-based community. The Archdiocese prioritizes work-life balance, offering flexible schedules and promoting involvement in community volunteer events. Working at the Archdiocese means being part of a unique community that values empowerment, collaboration, and inspiration, creating pathways to make meaningful differences in people’s lives every day.
