Erewhon Market is a leading health and wellness company that has made significant strides in transforming the grocery shopping and food experience with a strong focus on organic and sustainable products. As a rapidly expanding enterprise with over ten locations across Southern California, Erewhon is recognized not only for its excellent product offerings but also for its vibrant culture shaped by passionate leaders and dedicated staff. The company prides itself on being a trailblazer in the health food market, providing customers with the best food and wellness products available, aiming to promote healthier lifestyles and environmental sustainability. With stores in Beverly Hills, Calabasas, Culver City, Pasadena, Manhattan Beach, Santa Monica, Silver Lake, Studio City, Venice, West Hollywood, and plans to open more locations such as Glendale, Erewhon Market offers abundant career opportunities in a thriving industry. The company is committed to diversity, equal employment opportunity, and fostering a welcoming work environment for all individuals regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, or disability status.
The Dishwasher/Porter position at Erewhon Market is a vital role within the kitchen and overall cafe operations. This role serves as the backbone that ensures the smooth functioning of culinary activities by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards in compliance with all federal, state, and local health and safety regulations. This employment opportunity offers hourly pay ranging from $19 to $22 depending on experience, offering a competitive compensatory package within the food service industry. Joining this position means becoming an integral part of a passionate team that values communication, efficiency, and a healthy work environment. The role demands physical stamina as well as flexibility for shift work including nights and weekends to meet business needs.
Working closely with the culinary team, the Dishwasher/Porter supports critical back-of-house duties including managing dishwashing, replenishing dishes at various service points, maintaining stock areas such as coolers and freezers, and keeping food storage consistent with safety and sanitation rules. Beyond these operational tasks, the position also requires effective communication with supervisory staff to notify them about supply or equipment needs, and proactive assistance with other departmental duties as assigned by management. Erewhon Market values employees who are keen to grow their skills and careers, with a strong emphasis on internal promotion and professional development as the company continues to expand. Employees benefit from attractive perks such as substantial discounts on organic meals and in-store purchases, health benefits, 401k with company match, paid vacation, and sales rewards in some departments. This role is optimal for candidates who want to engage in hands-on kitchen work while contributing to a company with a meaningful mission in health and sustainability.
