Job Description
Spring Lake Village is a respected retirement community dedicated to providing high-quality living and care services to its residents. With an emphasis on creating a supportive, clean, and engaging environment, Spring Lake Village offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere for seniors, their families, and the dedicated staff who serve them. As part of the Front Porch family, an organization committed to enriching the lives of older adults, Spring Lake Village upholds values of respect, dignity, and quality in all aspects of service. The community fosters a team-oriented culture and strives to maintain high standards in both care and hospitality.
The role of Dishwasher at Spring Lake Village is a full-time temporary position scheduled from Sunday to Thursday, 3:30 PM to 10:30 PM. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the dining services department. Reporting to the Director of Dining Services or Executive Chef, the Dishwasher is responsible for washing and cleaning tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment. The role ensures that all dishware and kitchenware meet the highest standards of cleanliness, enabling the smooth operation of the kitchen and dining services.
In this role, the Dishwasher operates dish machines, loads and unloads them efficiently, monitors machine water temperature for sanitary cycles, and cleans and sanitizes work areas and equipment. The Dishwasher maintains an organized dish room, manages trash disposal responsibly, and replenishes cleaning supplies as needed. The position demands attention to detail, careful handling of tableware to prevent breakage, and adherence to safety protocols and health code regulations. The Dishwasher must also be prepared to assist in other kitchen areas when needed to support overall department efficiency.
Working conditions may involve long periods on feet in a hot, wet, and noisy environment. Therefore, candidates should be comfortable working under these conditions and following required safety measures. The position requires a valid Food Handlers’ certification and at least some high school education. While prior experience is not mandatory, candidates with related experience or training will be preferred. The hourly pay range is competitive, from $22.57 to $24.00, reflecting the importance of this role in supporting the dining operations.
Spring Lake Village emphasizes equal employment opportunities and diversity and requires successful completion of pre-employment screenings including a physical, drug test, physical abilities assessment, and background check. This ensures a safe and trustworthy community for all residents and staff.
Overall, the Dishwasher role is an essential part of the food service team that helps maintain hygiene standards and contributes to resident satisfaction by ensuring all dining utensils and kitchen equipment are sanitized and ready for use. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who take pride in their work, enjoy supporting team operations, and are committed to safety and cleanliness in a dynamic retirement community setting.
