Job Description
The hiring establishment is a dynamic and busy restaurant known for its commitment to quality and exceptional customer service. This seasonal opportunity is tailored for motivated individuals looking to contribute to a well-established culinary team during the busy summer months. The restaurant prides itself on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency, especially during peak seasons, to ensure an optimal dining experience for its patrons. With a focus on teamwork and dedication, this environment fosters personal growth and provides invaluable experience in the fast-paced hospitality industry.
The role of Seasonal Dishwasher is crucial to the smooth operation of the kitchen, especially in a high-volume restaurant setting. As a Seasonal Dishwasher, your primary responsibility will be to accurately and efficiently wash, clean, and sanitize dishes, glassware, and silverware. You will also support the events department with any special dishwashing and organizational needs that arise. This position requires a person with a strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and dedication to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness. The position is seasonal, lasting six months or less, specifically for the summer period from May to August. Hours will vary depending on workload demand and business needs, making flexibility an essential quality for applicants. Additionally, this is a tip-eligible role, offering an opportunity to earn additional income beyond the base wage.
The Seasonal Dishwasher operates both machine and hand-washing stations, removes garbage and recycling at the end of shifts, and supports trash audit efforts. Reporting equipment issues, shortages, and other kitchen concerns promptly to the chef or supervisor is an important part of maintaining smooth operations. This role also involves completing opening and closing checklists, ensuring proper kitchen closure procedures, and assisting colleagues when needed. Maintaining strict compliance with company and industry safety and sanitization standards is critical to the role. Teamwork is highly valued; the position expects open and respectful communication to foster a positive workplace culture. Candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and assist in a variety of operational activities that may change as the business evolves.
