The Dishwasher/Pot Washer role at CGS is an integral part of the food service operations, responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, cookware, and kitchen equipment in a timely and efficient manner. This position operates under a Union Collective Bargaining Agreement and offers a competitive pay rate of $33.34 per hour. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to health and safety standards to ensure a safe and clean kitchen environment.
The Dishwasher/Pot Washer will utilize industrial dishwashers and manual cleaning techniques to thoroughly clean dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. Responsibilities include monitoring water temperatures to meet sanitation requirements, cleaning and maintaining dishwashing equipment to ensure optimal operation, and managing wash and rinse water systems. The role also involves organizing and storing cleaned items, maintaining kitchen cleanliness by performing various housekeeping duties such as mopping floors, cleaning drains, and emptying trash, and adhering to established safety policies and standard operating procedures.
This position requires a commitment to performing tasks safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food service and custodial standards. The Dishwasher/Pot Washer will work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating professionalism and teamwork while interacting with colleagues. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Favorable National Agency Check w/Inquiries (NACI) or DoD security clearance at the Secret or Top Secret level as applicable
- Ability to successfully pass any required background checks and drug testing
- Valid state driver's license recommended
- US citizenship preferred

- Previous dish washing experience in a dining facility

Job Duties
- Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using industrial dish machines or by hand
- Monitors water tank temperatures
- Disassembles and cleans dishwasher, pulper, drive belts, and conveyors then reassembles and completes operational check prior to usage
- Fills pot sinks, changes wash water when necessary and changes rinse water when necessary
- Places clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage area
- Maintains kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition
- Performs general cleaning and straightening in the kitchen as directed
- Cleans garbage cans with water or steam
- Sorts and removes trash, placing it in designated pickup area
- Performs other duties as assigned
