The role at Utah Valley Hospital is for a Dish Room and Housekeeping Team Member, responsible for maintaining the Culinary Department's cleanliness and sanitation to adhere to hospital, Health Department, and Joint Commission standards. This position is hourly, paid between $17.43 and $22.29 depending on experience, and categorized as PRN/on-call or as needed, with variable work shifts from Sunday through Saturday. The shifts for dish room operations are 7:30am to 4:30pm and 5:00pm to 10:00pm, while housekeeping shifts run from 2:00pm to 10:30pm. The team member's primary responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing dishes, collecting patient meal trays from hospital floors, thoroughly disinfecting dining and designated areas, and properly handling cleaning chemicals in compliance with safety regulations. This position also requires correct disposal of infectious waste and trash along with operation and maintenance of commercial dishwashing equipment. The role demands physical stamina as staff will be standing for long periods, lifting varying weights of supplies, and working hands-on with cleaning and dishwashing equipment.

The ideal candidate will possess a Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification by the first day of employment and preferably have one or more years of experience in food service or housekeeping settings. Essential skills include the ability to read color-coded labels and chemical information, clear communication, and proficiency in operating equipment safely. Physical requirements include good manual dexterity, ability to stand for extended periods, withstand temperature extremes, and perform activities requiring bending and lifting. Job Duties

  • Clean and sanitize dishes
