The role available is a PRN (pro re nata or as needed) Hospitality Aide position focused on supporting the dietary services department. This part-time, day-shift role is essential in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation within the kitchen and service areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, flatware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using proper techniques and chemical concentrations that meet rigorous safety and sanitation regulations. Preparing items for washing will include scraping and presoaking to remove all visible soil before processing through the dish machine to ensure effective sanitization.
Additionally, this role involves food service logistics such as delivering patient trays and late trays with precision and punctuality, adhering strictly to identification protocols and confidentiality policies. The aide will transport patient meal carts and bulk nourishment carts between nursing units, ensuring that all carts and equipment are kept clean and maintained to institutional standards. Restocking clean serviceware in designated locations is another critical responsibility, alongside monitoring dishroom sanitation logs, chemical usage, and equipment performance to ensure ongoing compliance with health and safety standards. Other duties may be assigned as necessary in support of the dietary department's overall operation.
Ideal candidates will hold at least a high school diploma or equivalent, though prior work experience in a similar role is not mandatory. A Food Handler Certificate is preferred or required depending on state regulations. This certification highlights knowledge of food safety principles necessary to uphold the hospital’s commitment to hygiene and patient safety. Employees in this role must be physically able to carry out the duties, which involve standing for extended periods, bending, lifting, and handling various cleaning chemicals. The pay range for this position spans from $15.68 to $25.09 per hour, reflecting the importance of the position and the commitment to fair compensation. As part of an equal opportunity employer, Texas Health Huguley complies with all anti-discrimination laws, welcoming applicants from diverse backgrounds to join its mission-driven team.
