The Dishwasher / Porter position at Holywater NOLA is essential to the seamless functioning of the venue’s kitchen and service areas. With an hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $19.00, this role offers flexible scheduling with day, night, weekend, and weekday shifts available to accommodate diverse availability. As a crucial member of the back-of-house team, the Dishwasher / Porter maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen tools, glassware, china, and storage areas, ensuring compliance with health department standards and company policies. Beyond just cleaning, the role involves managing waste disposal, maintaining stock areas, and assisting with bathroom upkeep, making sure all spaces meet Department of Health sanitation requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods of time as required to perform essential job functions
  • able to lift 50+ lbs
  • able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business

Job Duties

  • Clean and sanitize all glassware and china
  • comply with Company and Department of Health established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards
  • observe proper food preparation and handling techniques and safety protocols
  • comply with Company safety plan and standards as set forth in training materials
  • dispose of all trash, cardboard, etc. from kitchen and service areas as required
  • exercise sound judgement taking into account safety, customer needs, and environmental factors
  • keep work area neat and clean at all times to ensure DOH standards are met
  • maintain cleanliness of all storage areas and back of house areas by emptying trash, sweeping and mopping floors, etc.
  • perform daily cleaning and sanitation tasks as directed
  • report to work in a neat and clean uniform
  • maintain well-groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by company policy
  • set up and breakdown station to specification
  • perform cleaning tasks at the conclusion of each service and prepare for the following service
  • clean and stock bathrooms
  • work with venues on DOH compliance
