The Dishwasher position is integral to maintaining a sanitary environment and guarantees the constant availability of clean dishes, pots, pans, and flatware. The Dishwasher is expected to manage dishwashing through both the use of dishwashers and manual methods, maintain orderly kitchen work areas, and ensure all kitchen tools are clean and stored appropriately. Job Requirements

  • minimum high school education or equivalent
  • prior experience in a similar role preferred
  • knowledge of cleaning and sanitation standards
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • physical ability to lift heavy items and stand for long durations
  • attention to detail and reliability
  • ability to follow safety protocols precisely

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in dishwashing or kitchen sanitation is a plus
  • ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • understanding of hygiene and safety regulations in food service
  • good communication skills
  • ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • physical stamina to stand and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods

Job Duties

  • wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand
  • maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition
  • clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment
  • place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas
  • store supplies or goods in kitchens or storage areas
  • sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas
  • follow cleaning routine and schedule as set by supervisor including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, window washing, mirrors, etc.
  • identify appropriate cleaning materials and products to sanitize area, disinfect and deodorize according to company standards
  • organize cleaning items, disinfectants and other materials kept in storage, as well as cleaning equipment
  • use proper signage to indicate wet flooring or other potentially hazardous situations
  • regularly empty trash and recycling
  • replenish supplies in washrooms, such as hand soap, paper towels and toilet paper
