Job Description
The hiring establishment is a bustling restaurant known for its commitment to exceptional service and high standards of cleanliness. This restaurant prides itself on offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment where the team is dedicated to maintaining a safe and hygienic atmosphere for both staff and customers. As a key member of the back-of-house team, the Dishwasher plays an indispensable role in the smooth operation of daily activities by ensuring all dishware, utensils, and kitchen equipment are meticulously cleaned and sanitized.
The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all cutlery, glassware, food machines, and other kitchen tools. Beyond just cleaning, this role involves keeping the dishwashing station in a pristine and safe condition, contributing to overall kitchen safety and efficiency. It demands consistent attention to detail and a proactive approach to preventing contamination and maintaining hygiene standards in line with health regulations.
This position requires a physically demanding effort, including lifting heavy objects up to 60 pounds, standing for the entire shift, and working in a hot, wet, and humid environment typical of busy restaurants. The Dishwasher must be prepared to multitask and adapt to the high volume, fast-moving environment of the restaurant, ensuring the flow of clean dishware that supports timely meal service. Organizational skills are key, as the Dishwasher must manage the washing cycles, ensure proper disposal of waste, and prepare the floors for cleaning by rolling and unrolling mats.
This job is perfect for individuals who thrive in active work settings and enjoy contributing to the success of a team in the hospitality industry. Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant is beneficial but not mandatory. The restaurant values dedication, willingness to learn, and the ability to maintain composure in a sometimes hectic environment. Working as a Dishwasher offers the chance to gain foundational experience in a professional kitchen, often leading to opportunities for growth and advancement within the restaurant industry.
