Job Description

St. Luke's University Health Network is a distinguished healthcare institution committed to delivering exceptional medical care, education, and community services. Known for its unwavering dedication to excellence, St. Luke's prides itself on fostering an environment where highly skilled, compassionate employees work together to achieve the organization's mission. The Network serves a broad community, improving access to care for all patients regardless of their ability to pay, and invests heavily in educating the next generation of healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, and other providers. Employees at St. Luke's are considered its most valuable asset, bringing a collaborative spirit and passion for patient care that drives the institution's success and enhances the lives of those it serves.

The Dishwasher, Food Service position at St. Luke's plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen operations, contributing directly to the overall patient care environment. This role requires an individual dedicated to supporting food service efficiency by washing pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchenware; assisting in dish room operations; and ensuring proper storage of supplies. The position involves receiving and organizing stock, maintaining cleanliness in the dish room and surrounding areas, and performing general janitorial duties such as sweeping and mopping. The role is vital in upholding the high hygiene standards that St. Luke's demands and in supporting the smooth running of food preparation and service.

This is a part-time or full-time role requiring flexibility as the dishwasher must be available to work every other weekend and every other holiday, ensuring continuous service quality. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to safety, proper hygiene, and teamwork, as well as adherence to St. Luke's service excellence standards. The work environment is physically demanding, involving standing for prolonged periods, lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds, and performing tasks that ensure the kitchen and stocking areas are properly maintained. There is no prior experience required as on-the-job training is provided, making this an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates motivated to begin a career in the healthcare food service field.

In essence, this position supports the overall mission of St. Luke's by ensuring that food service areas are sanitary and well-organized, which is essential for patient safety and satisfaction. It provides a foundational role for those interested in healthcare support roles and offers a meaningful way to contribute to a network that prioritizes care, education, and community well-being. St. Luke's University Health Network values diversity, offers equal employment opportunities, and encourages all qualified candidates to apply with full legal names and detailed work histories for consideration.
