Job Description

Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina (PCSC) is a respected non-profit organization committed to providing high-quality senior living options and care tailored to seniors of all faiths. Established with a deep sense of mission and community, PCSC is dedicated to enriching the quality of life for its residents through compassionate service, innovative programs, and a warm hospitality environment. Their approach goes beyond basic care, focusing on fostering relationships, teamwork, service excellence, and stewardship within their communities. PCSC operates several living communities, including Laurel Crest, where the focus is on nurturing a supportive and engaging atmosphere for seniors to thrive in a safe and comfortable environment. This is an organization that embraces diversity, promotes professional growth, and values the input and wellbeing of every staff member while maintaining the highest standards in senior services.

The Utility Technician position at Laurel Crest within the PCSC network is a pivotal role aimed at maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and operational efficiency essential to creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for residents, staff, and visitors. This role is suited for individuals who are compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic about contributing to the day-to-day positive experiences within the community. As a Utility Technician, you will engage in a variety of tasks that support the dining team and overall community activities, ensuring that all spaces are clean, organized, and welcoming.

This position involves practical hands-on work such as washing dishes, pots, pans, and silverware, and assisting with food cart delivery across the community as needed. Maintaining cleanliness through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal in assigned areas is fundamental to the role. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to be involved in supporting community activities that require assistance from the dining services team, providing a diverse and fulfilling work experience. PCSC encourages career growth and fosters an environment where your contributions directly impact the wellbeing of seniors, making this position not only a job but a chance to make a meaningful difference every day.

This role is ideal for individuals with at least one year of related experience or a willingness to learn and grow within the senior care setting. The organization offers a supportive work culture with a range of wellness-oriented benefits including dental, vision, life and disability insurance, generous 403B employer matching with additional contributions, and education assistance programs. Additional perks such as free on-site flu shots, discounted meals, an employee assistance program, referral bonuses, and paid time off donation and sellback options underscore PCSC’s commitment to the health and satisfaction of its workforce.

Joining PCSC means aligning with an employer that values relationships, teamwork, and service excellence as core principles. It is a place where you can grow your career while making a tangible difference in the lives of seniors. If you have a passion for service and a desire to contribute to a purposeful mission, this Utility Technician role at Laurel Crest is a compelling opportunity to enhance your professional journey within a nurturing and impactful environment.
