Job Description

American International College, located at 1000 State Street, Springfield, MA, is part of a vibrant educational community dedicated to fostering learning and growth. Within this supportive environment, we are seeking reliable individuals to join our campus team as part-time Dishwashers. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our kitchen and dining areas, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The role of a Dishwasher at American International College offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are conscientious, hardworking, and eager to contribute to a dynamic food service operation. The position is part time, with schedules that vary to include both AM and PM shifts, providing flexibility to accommodate different availabilities. Compensation ranges from $16.50 to $17.00 per hour, reflecting the importance of this role in the overall success of our campus dining services.

As a Dishwasher, you will be responsible for scrapping, rinsing, and washing dishes either by hand or through automated dishwashing equipment. The role requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure complete cleanliness and adherence to strict sanitation standards. Duties extend beyond dishwashing to include washing pots, pans, trays, and silverware using various cleaning methods. Maintaining chemical levels and temperatures of cleaning solutions, keeping work areas orderly, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols are critical components of the job.

Beyond the primary dishwashing responsibilities, you will contribute to the upkeep of kitchen floors, walls, refrigerators, and food preparation surfaces by performing sweeping, mopping, and regular cleaning tasks. Handling and disposal of trash, steam cleaning garbage cans, and assisting in the transfer of supplies and equipment between storage and work areas are also part of the daily workflow. The position requires adaptability, as additional duties may be assigned based on business needs.

This role is ideal for those with prior dishwashing experience, although candidates without experience are welcome to apply as training is provided. Working within an educational facility means that during certain periods such as winter and summer breaks, work may be reduced or temporarily paused. However, depending on operational requirements, employees may be asked to work at different locations or year-round.

At American International College, part-time associates are valued team members who enjoy competitive wages and a range of benefits designed to support their professional and personal development. The company offers opportunities for training and development, retirement plans, health and wellness programs, and more. Benefits like Instapay through the One @Work app provide financial convenience, while additional voluntary benefits and insurance options are available to support associates' diverse needs.

The institution is committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring all applicants and staff are treated fairly and respectfully without discrimination. This commitment reflects the core values upheld throughout the campus community and the employer’s dedication to creating an empowering workplace.

Overall, joining American International College as a Dishwasher means becoming part of a dedicated team that values integrity, quality, and service excellence.
