The role is for a dedicated Dishwasher who plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of dishware, utensils, kitchen equipment, and work areas. This position demands a keen attention to detail and adherence to safety and hygiene protocols, including proper use of chemicals and handling of kitchen waste. The Dishwasher will contribute significantly to the overall kitchen workflow, supporting various departments such as Catering, Banquets, Outlets, and Maintenance through effective communication and cooperation.
This employment is hourly, part of a shift-based schedule which may include nights, weekends, and holidays, requiring flexibility and stamina. The dishwasher’s responsibilities extend beyond just cleaning dishes and utensils to include maintaining kitchen sanitation standards by cleaning ovens, grills, floors, hoods, refrigerators, and ensuring that all workstations are properly set up and stocked with necessary equipment and chemicals. The ability to lift up to 75 pounds and remain on their feet for extended periods is essential, as well as the capability to follow instructions precisely to uphold safety standards and operational protocols.
In addition to daily cleaning duties, the Dishwasher monitors chemical levels and water temperatures during shifts to ensure dishwashing machines operate within manufacturer specifications. They also handle garbage disposal, recycling, and maintenance of designated kitchen areas, making sure that all processes align with environmental regulations and hotel policies. Job Requirements
- Ability to carry or lift items up to 75 pounds
- Ability to stand and move about the kitchen or designated areas for extended periods
- Ability to handle objects, products, chemicals, cleaning supplies, and utensils
- Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel as required
- Basic reading abilities for understanding chemical and machine labels
- Basic math skills for mixing chemical solutions
- Willingness and availability to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts

Job Duties
- Set up work station including filling dish machine, checking chemical levels, presoaking, and gathering required equipment
- Replenish supplies as needed for all shifts
- Rinse and scrape all dishes
- Operate dishwashing machine following manufacturer specifications and instructions
- Place clean dishes in assigned storage location
- Clean designated equipment such as hoods, filters, steam tables, ovens, grills, sinks, refrigerators, freezers, and service areas
- Use and dispose of kitchen substances and chemicals properly
- Check working condition of equipment and report hazardous situations
- Empty and clean trash cans, transport garbage containers to dump sites, and adhere to recycling regulations
- Set up and monitor pot sink according to procedures
- Sweep and mop kitchen floor at end of meal periods and after spills
- Monitor chemicals and water temperature during shift
- Clean and organize work area and kitchen equipment for efficiency
- Promote teamwork and coordinate with other departments including Catering, Banquets, Outlets, and Maintenance
- Assist with other duties as assigned
