Job Requirements
- must be able to lift and carry minimum 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
- standing for long periods and ambulating carrying trays, plates, silverware, and accessories
- ability to reach, bend, pick up items
- work in heat, steam, and cold kitchen environments
- follow safety guidelines and schedules
- demonstrate honesty, integrity, and confidentiality
- able to respond to residents’ requests in a positive, customer-friendly manner
- able to maintain cleanliness and orderliness consistently
Job Qualifications
- possess education that enables reading and comprehending simple procedures
- interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with residents and staff
- knowledge of hazardous materials handling and MSDS locations
- ability to work independently and prioritize workload
- compassionate and caring attitude towards the elderly
- demonstration of servant leadership and positive customer service
- adherence to professional appearance standards
Job Duties
- Load dishwasher according to department’s policies and procedures
- ensure temperature of dishwasher meets state and federal regulations
- assist cooks in meal preparation as requested
- assist in replacing stock and maintaining storeroom cleanliness and order
- maintain a clean and neat kitchen
- assist servers by responding to residents’ requests positively
- maintain confidentiality of residents’ personal information
- maintain professional appearance and demeanor
- ensure adequate daily coverage for meal service by communicating with staff
- take resident orders and provide drink refills upon request
- assist with cleaning, resetting and preparing dining room between meals
- perform all other assigned duties
