Bon Appetit is currently seeking a diligent and reliable part-time Dishwasher to join their team at the Foundry and Lux location in South San Francisco, CA. This position offers scheduled work from Tuesday through Friday, 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a fixed hourly wage of $18.15. The Dishwasher will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchenware, utensils, and dining ware, enabling smooth kitchen operations and a safe dining environment. Candidates with previous dishwashing experience are preferred, though all qualified applicants who demonstrate a commitment to quality and teamwork will be considered.

The Dishwasher’s responsibilities include scrapping, rinsing, washing, and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans, trays, and other kitchen equipment, either by hand or through mechanical dishwashing machines, ensuring compliance with all safety and hygiene standards. This role also involves polishing silverware using appropriate machinery or manual methods, maintaining the dishwashing area’s cleanliness, and performing additional tasks such as sweeping, mopping kitchen floors, and washing prep surfaces. The Dishwasher helps with unloading and transferring supplies, managing waste disposal, and adhering to all safety procedures related to temperatures and chemical levels within sanitation standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to work Tuesday through Friday, 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to lift heavy objects
  • Willingness to comply with company policies

Job Duties

  • Scrapes and rinses food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine depending on assigned equipment
  • Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation
  • Washes pots, pans and trays based on assigned procedures
  • Polishes silver using burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel and hand cloth depending on assigned equipment and procedures
  • Ensures compliance with outlined safety procedures
  • Maintains temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards
  • Keeps dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards
  • Sweeps and mops kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards
  • Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and other food prep surfaces
  • Removes trash and places it in designated containers
  • Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans
  • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
  • Helps load and unload supplies and product
  • Performs other duties as assigned
