The role available is a Full-Time non-management Food and Beverage position located at a Marriott property in Newark, New Jersey. The position offers hourly pay between $25.60 and $26.95 and involves critical operational tasks focused on maintaining cleanliness and order in the kitchen and food preparation areas. This position is essential in supporting the culinary and food service teams by ensuring high standards of sanitation, safety, and organization.

As a team member in this Food and Beverage role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining cleaning equipment such as dishwashing machines and a trash compactor, as well as managing hand wash stations and pot-scrubbing areas. Your duties include washing and disinfecting kitchen tools, utensils, knives, tables, and equipment to uphold rigorous hygiene standards. Additionally, you will receive deliveries, properly store perishables, perform stock rotation, and ensure that all clean wares are stored correctly in their designated areas.

This role demands an attentive approach to using detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals effectively within a 3-compartment sink system to clean dishes thoroughly. You will inspect and manage the cleanliness of various kitchen items, including racks, silverware, and bus tubs, ensuring that soiled items are re-washed as necessary. Beyond washing duties, you will maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen by cleaning and mopping floors and disposing of waste properly, including recycling cardboard and glass.

The position requires adherence to all company safety and security policies. You are expected to report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and any workplace accidents promptly. This role involves physical tasks such as lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and performing movements like bending and twisting. Collaborating effectively with your team and fostering positive working relationships are also key components of this position, helping to achieve common goals and maintain a smooth operation.
