Job Description
The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts is a prestigious global portfolio of more than 120 exceptional hotels and resorts located in over 35 countries. As part of Marriott International, a world leader with over 100 years of hospitality excellence, The Luxury Collection invites you to take part in a legacy that began in 1906 with the renowned Italian brand CIGA, a collection of some of the most iconic and historic hotels in Europe. These properties serve as gateways to immersive and authentic experiences, reflecting the rich cultural heritage and unique charm of each destination. From legendary palaces and remote retreats to timeless modern classics, every Luxury Collection hotel and resort is a unique expression of its locale, offering unforgettable moments for discerning travelers who seek genuine and personalized hospitality.
This part-time, non-management position is based in Honolulu, Hawaii, at the address 2259 Kalakaua Ave. The role offers an hourly pay range of $26.82 to $33.52, providing a competitive wage for those looking to contribute to and grow within the luxury hospitality sector. As a vital member of the Food and Beverage & Culinary team, the selected individual will primarily operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools such as dishwashers, hand-washing stations, pot washing stations, and trash compactors. Responsibilities include washing and sanitizing kitchen and storage areas, utensils, knives, and equipment to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
The position demands meticulous handling and storage of perishable goods, consistent rotation of inventory, and ensuring that clean dishware is properly stored. The role also requires the use of chemical detergents, disinfectants, and rinsing agents in a three-compartment sink system for washing dishes. Additionally, tasks include inspecting, sorting, and stacking clean items; re-washing and re-sanitizing soiled items as necessary; and utilizing hot water spray to loosen food residues. Managing silverware - classifying, soaking, washing, and re-washing - as well as sorting and separating dirty dish containers are also part of daily duties.
This role also involves waste management duties such as emptying trash bins, maintaining trash disposal areas, properly disposing of glass in designated containers, breaking down cardboard boxes and other recyclables for recycling pickup, along with general cleaning and mopping of all designated departmental areas. Adhering strictly to all company safety policies and procedures is essential. The employee must report any accidents, injuries, or hazardous conditions to management and complete all safety trainings and certifications. Protecting company property and maintaining professional, clear communication at all times are also core to this position.
Physical requirements include the ability to move, lift, transport, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, as well as standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods. The role may require reaching overhead, bending, twisting the waist, dragging, and stooping, highlighting the physically demanding nature of the job.
No prior relevant experience or high school diploma/GED is required, and no supervisory experience or licenses/certifications are necessary, making this role accessible for entry-level candidates seeking a start or transition in the hospitality field.
The Luxury Collection is deeply committed to equal opportunity employment, fostering an inclusive environment that welcomes diversity and promotes access to opportunity for all. The strength of their team lies in the rich mix of cultures, talents, and experiences, with a strict policy against discrimination on the basis of disability, veteran status, or other legally protected characteristics. By joining The Luxury Collection, you become part of a global network where your best work can flourish, your purpose can be fulfilled, and you can grow to be the best version of yourself.
