Job Description
Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services. Founded in 2015, OVG operates and manages a diverse portfolio of world-class venues, including seven owned venues and a wide array of iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. The company is well-known for its expertise in venue development, hospitality, and sponsorship sales, delivering unparalleled experiences in the live entertainment industry. OVG is committed to innovation, inclusivity, and excellence, continually pushing boundaries to provide the best environment for both performers and patrons alike.
The Wichita Wind Surge, based at Equity Bank Park in Wichita, Kansas, is one of the distinguished teams and venues managed under the Oak View Group umbrella. The team delivers exciting baseball experiences packed with entertainment and community engagement. The venue not only offers top-tier sports action but also an exceptional food and beverage program to complement every event.
The Dishwasher role at Wichita Wind Surge is a part-time position essential for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards of the venue. The dishwasher is responsible for washing and sanitizing all tableware, serving materials, cooking equipment, and small wares, ensuring they meet the highest standards of hygiene necessary to eliminate any risk of contamination. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the food and beverage operations, which contribute significantly to the overall guest experience.
Employees in this role must maintain excellent attendance and flexibility to work during scheduled events to meet the business needs. The dishwasher position offers an hourly pay rate ranging from $13.00 to $16.00, providing competitive wages for part-time employment. Benefits for part-time roles include participation in a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions, giving employees an opportunity to plan for their financial future.
The dishwasher not only operates dishwashing machinery but also ensures compliance with food safety policies, including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) criteria, and local and federal food and product safety regulations. Duties extend to maintaining safe and clean loading and receiving areas, removing trash appropriately, and restocking clean dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure smooth kitchen and service operations. The dishwasher also plays a role in cleaning and sanitizing all food service areas and equipment, thereby supporting the venue's commitment to hygiene and safety.
Ideal candidates for the dishwasher role should be at least 16 years old and have prior similar experience, though this is considered a plus and not a strict requirement. The job demands physical resilience, including the ability to bend, reach, and lift heavy objects as needed. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting respectably and effectively with coworkers, management, and guests to foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Candidates must also be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and event-driven environment. Possession of a valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit may be required depending on state or federal regulations.
Oak View Group values diversity and inclusivity, recognizing that embracing a variety of backgrounds fuels innovation and enriches company culture. OVG is an equal opportunity employer, committed to creating an inclusive environment where all employees and applicants are treated fairly regardless of veteran status, race, gender, age, disability, or any other protected class under applicable laws. This position remains open until August 28, 2026, offering a substantial window for prospective applicants to join an industry-leading team dedicated to excellence in sports and live entertainment.
