Currently, Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a part-time Dishwasher to join the passionate team at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa. This role is critical to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and sanitation that define the resort experience. Dishwashers perform essential duties in both kitchen and dining areas, supporting cooks, banquet servers, and food servers with access to properly cleaned and sanitized cooking utensils, plates, and glassware. The role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and commitment to safety practices.

As a Dishwasher, you will handle sorting and cleaning soiled ware, operating dishwashing machinery, polishing silver, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. Responsibilities include washing pots, pans, trays, and utensils by hand, managing stock and storage, and ensuring that sanitation standards comply with OSHA regulations. This position involves working in interior hotel areas that may expose you to humidity, steam, extreme temperatures, and chemical cleaning agents. Strong physical capability is required as the job involves lifting, standing, bending, and twisting for extended periods.

In addition to core dishwashing duties, you will assist with food preparation and cooking under the direction of the chef, further enhancing your skills within the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will maintain personal hygiene, exhibit strong customer service skills, and contribute to creating a courteous, friendly, and professional work environment. Must hold a valid Food Handlers Certificate and be at least 18 years of age. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry moderate weight
  • Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods of time, with frequent bending and twisting
  • Must be able to utilize culinary tools such as knives and commercial equipment
  • Must be able to taste and smell
  • Must be able to work in interior hotel restaurant and kitchen areas with exposure to humidity, steam and extreme temperatures
  • Must be able to handle exposure to hazardous cleaning chemicals

Job Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Food Handlers Certificate
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area at all times
  • Strong customer service orientation and skills
  • Excellent safety and sanitation skills
  • Create courteous, friendly, professional work environment
  • Minimum age requirement of 18 years

Job Duties

  • Promptly and carefully sort soiled ware so that it can be put through the dish or pot machine properly
  • Quickly wash all ware and replace in storage areas as designated
  • Keep dish machine properly cleaned and filled with water per hotel standards
  • De-tarnish/polish silver for proper appearance
  • Clean kettles, tilt skillets, pots and pans promptly and completely so cooks can carry out their work
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
  • Transport and clean cooking utensils and service ware to provide cooks, banquet servers and food servers with appropriate equipment
  • Perform duties to maintain kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition
  • Sweep and mop floors
  • Wash worktable, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks
  • Separate and remove trash and garbage and place in designated containers
  • Steam-clean or hose-out garbage cans
  • Sort cardboard boxes and put through bailing machine
  • Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand
  • Scrape food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or place them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine
  • Run glasses through dish machine twice
  • Understand OSHA regulations
  • Put away and rotate stock
  • Put away all clean utensils and stock in designated areas
  • Maintain personal hygiene
  • Perform any other job related duties as assigned
  • Assist with food preparation and cooking under the guidance of the chef
