Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry moderate weight
- Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods of time, with frequent bending and twisting
- Must be able to utilize culinary tools such as knives and commercial equipment
- Must be able to taste and smell
- Must be able to work in interior hotel restaurant and kitchen areas with exposure to humidity, steam and extreme temperatures
- Must be able to handle exposure to hazardous cleaning chemicals
Job Qualifications
- Must have a valid Food Handlers Certificate
- Maintain cleanliness of work area at all times
- Strong customer service orientation and skills
- Excellent safety and sanitation skills
- Create courteous, friendly, professional work environment
- Minimum age requirement of 18 years
Job Duties
- Promptly and carefully sort soiled ware so that it can be put through the dish or pot machine properly
- Quickly wash all ware and replace in storage areas as designated
- Keep dish machine properly cleaned and filled with water per hotel standards
- De-tarnish/polish silver for proper appearance
- Clean kettles, tilt skillets, pots and pans promptly and completely so cooks can carry out their work
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
- Transport and clean cooking utensils and service ware to provide cooks, banquet servers and food servers with appropriate equipment
- Perform duties to maintain kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition
- Sweep and mop floors
- Wash worktable, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks
- Separate and remove trash and garbage and place in designated containers
- Steam-clean or hose-out garbage cans
- Sort cardboard boxes and put through bailing machine
- Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand
- Scrape food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or place them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine
- Run glasses through dish machine twice
- Understand OSHA regulations
- Put away and rotate stock
- Put away all clean utensils and stock in designated areas
- Maintain personal hygiene
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned
- Assist with food preparation and cooking under the guidance of the chef
