The position available is within the Operations department, reporting to the Kitchen Manager at one of Cinepolis’s theater locations. This role is vital in ensuring the quality, safety, and efficiency of food preparation and kitchen operations. Employees are entrusted with preparing menu items accurately and promptly according to orders placed through the point of sale system, maintaining high standards of food safety and presentation to guarantee a premium guest experience. This includes adhering to strict food handling guidelines, managing inventory effectively, and collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure timely service.

Job Requirements

  • At least high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year professional kitchen experience preferred
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance
  • Effective communication skills
  • Must complete ServSafe certification or equivalent training
  • Flexible working hours including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures consistently

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of professional kitchen experience
  • Culinary training preferred
  • Experience with dishwashing, prep, cooking, and expediting
  • ServSafe training certification preferred or must complete certification prior to line work
  • Proficiency in kitchen operations and execution
  • Working knowledge of US measurements, weight, and volume
  • Ability to follow instructions on safe use of chemical and cleaning materials
  • Effective teamwork skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to walk, lift, twist, bend, reach, and handle food frequently
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations positively
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
  • Flexible availability including holidays and weekends

Job Duties

  • Prepare menu items accurately and promptly when ordered through point of sale system
  • Make items only as ordered through point of sale system to ensure integrity
  • Accommodate special requests with management approval to create a positive guest experience
  • Prepare dishes according to recipes to maintain quality and consistency
  • Coordinate cooking with kitchen staff to ensure timely and high-quality food service
  • Remake items as instructed by supervisor or manager
  • Adhere to food handlers safety guidelines including temperature control, labeling, and avoiding cross-contamination
