The role available is for a Steward in one of the company's hotels. This position involves the essential duties of sorting, washing, and returning dishes and utensils to various food operations throughout the hotel. The Steward plays a critical role in maintaining a clean and efficient workstation and ensuring the timely delivery of clean dishes and utensils to the cooks' line and other Food and Beverage areas as needed. Working as a Steward requires adherence to health department guidelines, particularly in maintaining the cleanliness and operational standards of dishwashing machines and ensuring that all kitchen and food service areas are properly stocked and hygienic.
In this position, the Steward will be responsible for managing the dish machine, unloading dishes, and handling waste disposal tasks while keeping the dish area clean and safe. Physical demands for this role are significant as the job involves frequent lifting of up to 75 pounds, standing and walking for the duration of the work shift, and performing repetitive motions such as twisting and pushing/pulling. The work environment includes exposure to various kitchen conditions such as noise, temperature fluctuations, and different smells typical of a kitchen setting.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds frequently
- Previous experience in dishwashing or stewarding preferred
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Adherence to safety and health department guidelines
- Capability to work in kitchen environment with moderate noise and temperature variations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- Previous stewarding experience preferred
Job Duties
- Properly fill and maintain the dish machine
- Maintain cleanliness standards of machine according to health department guidelines
- Unload dish machine, stack, store and return dishes and utensils to proper areas in both kitchen and food service areas
- Empty garbage cans in dish area and throughout the kitchen as needed
- Maintain dish area including floors, walls and counter areas within standards of the hotel and health department guidelines
- Sweep and mop floors in dishroom and kitchen
- Clean and replace floor mats
- Restock areas with required supplies
