Currently, Assets, Inc. is seeking a part-time Dishwasher who will be an essential team member behind the scenes. This role offers 20 to 29 hours per week at a starting wage of $17.75 per hour, making it an accessible entry point for people interested in the food service industry or working in support roles within a busy kitchen setting. In this role, the dishwasher will wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment both by hand and using specialized machinery, always adhering to safety and sanitation standards. The successful candidate will help maintain a clean and organized dining and kitchen workspace by busking tables, wiping surfaces, sweeping, mopping, and carrying out additional cleaning tasks such as washing kitchen hoods and grease traps. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior dishwashing or janitorial experience preferred
  • ability to pass a criminal background check
  • must have an insured vehicle and valid Alaska driver’s license with no or low points
  • ability to provide driving record and proof of insurance
  • ability to comply with Joint Base Elmendorf/Richardson transportation regulations
  • ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 100 pounds
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, loud, wet, and humid environment
  • willingness to participate in required training
  • positive attitude and teamwork orientation

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of food service sanitation preferred
  • prior experience washing dishes or janitorial work preferred
  • ability to read and recognize simple words and numbers
  • ability to print and speak simple sentences
  • ability to apply common sense to carry out simple instructions
  • ability to deal with standardized situations
  • ability to complete food handler training
  • ability to maintain positive and tactful interactions with customers and coworkers
  • willingness to work varied schedules
  • understanding of OSHA safety standards
  • knowledge of MSDS materials
  • ability to work with individuals with disabilities

Job Duties

  • Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment by hand and machine
  • keeping everything clean, sanitized, and up to safety standards
  • supporting the kitchen team so service runs smoothly
  • helping maintain a clean dining and work environment
  • sorting dishes and silverware by size and type
  • operating dish machines including cleaning and de-liming
  • performing additional dining facility attendant duties such as bussing tables, wiping counters, sweeping, mopping, cleaning kitchen hoods and grease traps, replenishing self-service areas
  • completing food handler training and other required trainings
  • participating in company and site meetings and trainings
  • maintaining proactive relationships with customers and coworkers
  • following company policies
  • performing other duties as assigned
