We are currently seeking a Steward to join our food service team. The Steward plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards within the food service environment, ensuring that all equipment, utensils, and serving areas meet health and safety guidelines. This position involves responsibilities such as cleaning and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans, flatware, and glassware, as well as ensuring proper storage of all kitchen wares. The Steward will also perform thorough daily cleaning of storage areas, walk-in shelving, steam tables, hoods, and exhaust systems. Maintaining compliance with Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines is essential to this role, supporting the overall quality control within the food service department.
This is a varied shift position, requiring flexibility including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays. The role demands physical endurance, including standing for most of the workday and walking long distances. The Steward will work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating an understanding of food safety protocols and safe work practices. Job Requirements
- Minimum age of 16 years
- Previous experience in food service preferred
- Ability to read and write
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and walk long distances
- Ability to work independently when necessary

Job Duties
- Complies with Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point guidelines for food service
- Maintains quality control standards
- Cleans, sanitizes, and stocks all dishes, pots, pans, flatware, and glassware
- Stores dishes and kitchen wares in proper areas
- Performs daily cleaning of dry storage, walk-in shelving, steam tables, hoods, and exhaust system
- Empties kitchen trash receptacles and disposes of garbage properly
- Practices safe work habits and other duties as assigned
