Job Description
This job opportunity is within a dynamic hospitality environment that prioritizes high standards of cleanliness and operational efficiency. The company operates as a restaurant or hotel with a kitchen that serves a variety of guests, requiring a steady flow of kitchenware to be cleaned and replenished to maintain seamless service. The establishment is committed to providing quality service and a safe, hygienic environment not only for the patrons but also for the kitchen staff. The working atmosphere is fast-paced with a supportive team-oriented approach, ensuring collaboration between all members working in the kitchen area. This part-time position offers a competitive hourly wage, making it a suitable opportunity for individuals seeking flexible work schedules while contributing to the smooth running of a reputed restaurant or hotel kitchen facility.
The Dishwasher position is integral to daily kitchen operations. The person in this role is responsible for cleaning dishes, pots, pans, utensils, glassware, and other kitchen equipment using appropriate dishwashing methods and machinery. Attention to detail is crucial, as the Dishwasher must inspect and sort kitchen items prior to washing to ensure delicate items receive proper handling, while maintaining a hygienic and organized dishwashing area. Beyond washing, this role includes sanitizing kitchen surfaces such as countertops, sinks, and floors, disposing of waste responsibly, and assisting with the maintenance of dishwashing machines and related equipment.
In addition, this role involves supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring an ongoing supply of cleaned dishes and utensils during meal service, assisting with minor food preparation duties such as peeling and chopping vegetables when time permits, and managing inventory related to dishwashing supplies. The Dishwasher must adhere to strict health and safety guidelines, handling cleaning chemicals safely and maintaining a clean working environment to prevent contamination risks.
Candidates best suited for this role will be those with previous experience or familiarity with working in kitchen or restaurant environments, though this is not mandatory. Those who thrive in fast-paced settings, are physically fit to handle prolonged standing and lifting, and demonstrate excellent time management and multitasking capabilities will excel. Strong teamwork and communication skills are also essential to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff. This role offers employees the opportunity to be a vital part of the kitchen team, helping ensure that the operation flows smoothly and that high standards of cleanliness and efficiency are met at all times.
The position demands physical stamina, with duties involving lifting heavy items up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods. Flexibility regarding shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays is required, aligning with the operational hours of the establishment. This role also values a positive attitude toward safety procedures and proactive maintenance tasks such as cleaning dishwashing machinery and monitoring kitchen supply levels.
Overall, the Dishwasher position is crucial for upholding the standards of kitchen cleanliness, supporting food preparation activities, and contributing to the overall guest satisfaction by enabling the kitchen team to function without interruption. This part-time role suits individuals who are keen on maintaining high hygiene standards, working efficiently in a team environment, and sustaining the professional demands of a busy hospitality setting.
