Job Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and speak English and understand diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments
- Numerical ability for proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety practices including use of gloves while handling dishes
- Thoroughness at handling soiled dishes, serving trays, operating dietary equipment and cleaning work areas
- Time management skills with willingness to work flexible hours

Job Duties
- Act in conformance with facility and departmental policies and procedures including human resources, code of ethics and business conduct, health and safety regulations, compliance requirements, patient rights, confidentiality, and HIPAA
- Attend department meetings as required
- Demonstrate accountability for personal and professional growth and required certifications or licenses
- Complete mandatory training and competencies annually
- Adhere to all policies and procedures specific to the assigned work account
- Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled
- Assist in arranging trays, loading food carts, and serving meals
- Set up the dining room and serve residents
- Wash and store dishes
- Sweep, mop, and take out the trash
- Keep all areas inside and outside dining areas free of debris
- Follow established reporting procedures for all supply and equipment needs
- Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies
- Follow defined safety codes while performing duties
- Follow defined infection control procedures
- Understand and follow the facility’s fire and disaster plans during drills and emergencies
- Be knowledgeable of federal, state, and facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to the job
- Perform other department duties or special assignments as directed by the general manager or designee
