Job Requirements

- ability to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests
- ability to operate POS cash register if applicable
- food handlers' card required within 30 days of hire for Banner Staffing Services team members (except for Tucson and Colorado employees)
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required for employees at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, Boswell Skilled Nursing Facility, Olive Branch Senior Center, or Whole Health Clinic
- completion of post-offer physical assessment, drug screen and background check

Job Duties
- Sets up work station and prepares assigned foods and nourishments according to established procedures and food quality standards
- cleans and sanitizes dishes, utensils, equipment, and kitchen areas while disposing of waste materials
- maintains par levels of food and supplies, orders and restocks items, rotates food stocks and checks expiration dates
- monitors and records food and equipment temperatures and reports discrepancies
- delivers meals, nourishments, late trays, and tube feedings to patient units and returns excess items as needed
- assists with catering or special event service
- operates cash register for transactions in retail café when applicable
- interacts with food service personnel, hospital staff, patients, and families, following instructions, maintaining sanitation standards, and providing excellent customer service
