Job Description

Banner Health is a premier non-profit health care system headquartered in Mesa, Arizona. Renowned for its commitment to patient care and community health, Banner Health operates multiple hospitals and clinics across the southwestern United States, making it one of the largest health care providers in the region. The organization is recognized as a certified Great Place To Work®, emphasizing a supportive work culture and employee well-being. Banner Health continually invests in developing its workforce, offering opportunities across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical roles to foster rewarding and sustainable careers in health care. Banner Staffing Services (BSS) is a part of Banner Health dedicated to offering registry and per diem job opportunities within the organization, catering especially to individuals seeking flexible work schedules in a dynamic health care environment.

The position offered through Banner Staffing Services is a food service role designed to support hospital operations in dietary service and retail café settings. This role is ideal for those who are motivated to provide excellent customer service while maintaining strict hygiene and food safety standards. The job is part-time with afternoon to evening shifts, primarily covering weekends and filling in for vacations or call outs, offering a $1 per hour weekend differential and an 18% night shift differential where applicable. The position involves preparing and serving food, maintaining cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, stocking food and supplies, and potentially assisting with catering or special events. The food service team member plays a crucial role in ensuring the dietary needs of patients, staff, and visitors are met with care and efficiency.

Employees in this role benefit from competitive wages, paid orientation, weekly pay, and access to various employee wellness and assistance programs. However, this position does not guarantee a fixed number of hours and does not include a medical benefits package. New hires must complete post-offer physical assessments, drug screening, and background checks. The job requires the ability to learn and follow food handling regulations, work well under supervision, and provide outstanding service while adhering to hygiene protocols for a safe hospital environment. Overall, this opportunity serves as a great starting point for individuals aiming to advance within Banner Health while contributing meaningfully to patient care through dietary support.
