Banner Staffing Services (BSS) is an extension of Banner Health that offers flexible Registry/Per Diem roles. This specific role is part-time, with shifts primarily on weekend afternoons and evenings, based in Sun City West, Arizona, under the Facilities, Environmental Services, and Culinary category. The position focuses on supporting the food service team by covering weekend vacations, call-outs, and extended leave periods mainly on the PM shift. Candidates will train across multiple roles within the PM shift to ensure proficiency and flexibility in meeting staffing demands. The food service associate plays a key role in preparing and serving food items, maintaining sanitation standards, and supporting overall dining operations within the hospital or clinic setting. This position requires adherence to established food safety and handling protocols while providing courteous and efficient service to patients, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing utensils and kitchen areas, managing food inventory and supplies, monitoring food temperatures, assisting with meal delivery, and potentially handling cash transactions when applicable. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Set up work station and prepare assigned foods and nourishments following procedures and portion controls
  • Clean and sanitize dishes, flatware, trays, cups, glasses, utensils, and kitchen areas
  • Maintain par levels of foods and supplies, order and restock as per routine, rotate food stocks, and check expiration dates
  • Check and record food and equipment temperatures, report discrepancies to supervisor
  • Deliver meals, nourishments, late trays, and tube feedings to units and assist in catering or special event service
  • Handle transactions at the cash register or cafe if applicable
  • Interact with other food service staff, hospital personnel, patients, and families while maintaining sanitation standards and customer service
