Currently, Sodexo is hiring for the position of Dishwasher to support operations at the University of Massachusetts Boston location. This part-time role offers an hourly pay rate of $21.00 and involves varying shifts throughout the week, with open availability preferred to meet operational demands. The Dishwasher role is critical to the efficient functioning of kitchen and food service operations. Responsibilities include washing dishes either by hand or using dishwashing machinery, cleaning and sanitizing worktables, walls, floors, refrigerators, and meat blocks, as well as ensuring the removal of trash and proper maintenance of equipment. The role requires physical activity such as walking, standing for extended periods during shifts that may exceed eight hours, bending, stooping, and lifting weights up to 50 pounds. The Dishwasher also supports restocking of supplies like soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials to maintain smooth operations throughout the shift.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- no related work experience required
- knowledge of sanitation procedures, including basic food safety concepts
- ability to walk or stand for extended periods
- ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
- reliable attendance and punctuality
- ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively
- readiness to work varying shifts with open availability preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- knowledge of sanitation procedures, including basic concepts of food safety
- ability to follow instructions and work independently
- physical capability to perform tasks including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds
- effective communication skills
Job Duties
- Washes dishes by hand or places them in a dishwashing machine
- cleans and sanitizes worktables, walls, refrigerators and meat blocks
- sweeps, mops, cleans and vacuums floors
- removes trash and garbage to designated areas
- cleans equipment using specific chemicals to ensure sanitary standards
- restocks supplies such as soap, paper towels and cleaning materials
- attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
