The Dishwasher role at Casa de MaF1ana Retirement Community is an integral part of the Dining Services team. This full-time position works from Friday to Tuesday, between 11:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., offering a stable schedule that supports work-life balance. The hourly pay range for this role is $19.00 to $21.00, reflecting the community's commitment to offering competitive wages. The dishwasher operates under the direct supervision of the Director of Dining Services or the Executive Chef, focusing on cleaning and maintaining kitchenware and cooking equipment to support smooth kitchen operations.
In this role, the dishwasher is responsible for efficiently washing and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils, essential for maintaining hygiene and food safety standards. They also ensure that the dish room and related equipment remain clean, organized, and in good working condition. This includes monitoring the dish machine for proper function and cleanliness and maintaining adequate supplies of detergents and cleaning products.
The dishwasher also plays a key role in customer service by interacting courteously with residents, families, colleagues, and vendors to ensure a positive dining experience. Physical stamina is important, as the job involves standing for extended periods and working in hot, wet, and noisy environments. Job Requirements
- Minimum one year of previous kitchen experience preferred
- Ability to work full-time Friday through Tuesday, 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Willingness to work in hot, wet, and noisy environments
- Ability to lift heavy bags, cases, and stacks safely
- Compliance with all federal, state and corporate health codes and guidelines
- Ability to complete pre-employment physical, physical abilities test, drug screen and background clearance
- Commitment to follow all safety standards and wear required safety equipment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous kitchen experience preferred
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
- Strong attention to detail
- Good physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods
- Effective communication skills
- Willingness to work in a team environment
Job Duties
- Provides quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors
- Load, run and unload the dish machine
- Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately
- Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle
- Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware
- Keep dish room clean and organized
