The role of Dishwasher/Utility at Red Lobster is an essential position aimed at maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and operational efficiency that guests and staff expect. The dishwasher/utility role includes the critical task of cleaning and sanitizing all dishware, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils to ensure food safety and hygiene. Operating dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently is a key part of the role, as well as maintaining overall cleanliness in all restaurant areas including the kitchen, dining, and waste disposal points.

In addition to cleaning responsibilities, the dishwasher/utility team member supports kitchen staff by assisting with food prep tasks such as making Red Lobster’s signature Cheddar Bay Biscuits and other preparation duties as necessary. The role demands physical stamina, as it involves standing for long periods (8 to 12 hours shifts), bending, reaching, and safely lifting items weighing up to 30 pounds. Employees must be authorized to work in the United States and meet the minimum age requirement.

Job Requirements

  • Must meet minimum age requirement and be authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop and safely lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to stand for 8 to 12 hour shifts
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting with attention to detail and multitasking capability
  • Compliance with all company cleaning and safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in a dishwashing or kitchen utility role is a plus
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment

  • Ability to adhere to safety and hygiene standards

Job Duties

  • Clean and maintain all areas of the restaurant
  • Clean and sanitize all dishware, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils
  • Operate dishwashing equipment safely and correctly
  • Empty all kitchen and other area trash receptacles
  • Work as a team supporting cooks with prep work including the preparation of Cheddar Bay Biscuits and other duties as needed
  • Focus on team and customers in decision-making
  • Follow all cleaning and safety protocols
