Located within a serene and supportive environment, Friends House offers its residents a fulfilling lifestyle enriched by community engagement and supportive services. The community honors the voices and contributions of everyone, encouraging a sense of belonging and purpose, which is central to its mission. The organization emphasizes honesty and a deep respect for every individual, creating an atmosphere where both residents and staff feel valued and nurtured. This ethos extends to all employees, who are seen as vital members in the ongoing effort to provide exceptional retirement living experiences. As a part of Front Porch’s commitment to creating inclusive and supportive environments, Friends House offers competitive wages, comprehensive health benefits, and opportunities for professional growth. This supportive environment is particularly important for team members who contribute behind the scenes, ensuring that the community runs smoothly and residents’ needs are met with care and attention to detail.
The role of Dishwasher at Friends House, reporting to the Director of Dining Services or the Executive Chef, is a full-time position with benefits, offering a competitive pay range of $23.00 to $24.00 per hour. Scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, this position is pivotal in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards of the dining services area. The Dishwasher is responsible for operating industrial dishwashing equipment, ensuring that all tableware, pots, pans, utensils, and cooking equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. This role also involves maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the dish-room and kitchen areas, as well as assisting with overall kitchen upkeep to meet health and safety regulations. Attention to detail and adherence to sanitation protocols are critical components of this position, as the Dishwasher helps uphold the high standards expected in a health-conscious environment such as a retirement community.
In addition to operating dishwashing machinery, the role involves routine tasks like sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning equipment, handling trash disposal, and assisting with deliveries when necessary. The Dishwasher will also be responsible for managing cleaning supplies to ensure adequate availability and proper use. This position requires a commitment to teamwork and following safety guidelines, as well as the flexibility to perform other assigned duties to support the efficient operation of the dining services department. Candidates should hold food handlers’ certification and have some high school education, with preference given to those having prior related experience, although it is not mandatory. The position fosters an environment of growth and learning, supported by leadership development programs and employee assistance resources offered by Front Porch.
By joining Friends House as a Dishwasher, the successful candidate becomes part of a community-focused organization where every employee’s contribution is seen as essential to the quality of life of the residents. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a meaningful and stable full-time role with supportive colleagues, comprehensive benefits, and a workplace culture that embraces diversity and continuous development. Front Porch is an equal opportunity employer, committed to creating an inclusive work environment and ensuring all final candidates undergo necessary screenings to maintain a safe and healthy community for both residents and staff.
