Job Description

This position is for a Dishwasher/Heavy Duty Cleaner role within a dynamic and fast-paced hospitality environment, supporting the Food & Beverage team to deliver outstanding guest experiences. This role is essential in maintaining high cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dishwashing areas of the establishment. The company hiring for this position is a well-established food service operation that prioritizes hygiene, teamwork, and customer satisfaction. The Dishwasher/Heavy Duty Cleaner will operate both dishwashing machines and perform manual cleaning duties to ensure that all dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment are spotless and organized, ready for immediate use by culinary staff and service personnel.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and a positive attitude towards teamwork in a high-volume setting. The job requires flexibility in scheduling, with varied shifts including mandatory availability on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and full availability expected the rest of the week to meet business demands. Reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef, the Dishwasher/Heavy Duty Cleaner will play a key part in maintaining a clean and efficient workstation, managing the proper use of cleaning chemicals, monitoring water temperature, and supporting the kitchen team as needed. This role requires the ability to work safely and efficiently, ensuring all safety protocols and standard operating procedures are followed. Candidates should be prepared to perform a range of physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing or moving for extended periods, which are typical demands within a busy kitchen environment.

Job Duties

  • Report directly to the kitchen manager or executive chef
  • maintain dependable and punctual attendance
  • operate dishwashing machines safely and efficiently
  • wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans (machine and manual)
  • maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary dishwashing area at all times
  • monitor proper chemical usage and water temperature levels
  • sweep, mop, and maintain kitchen floors, walls, and trash areas
  • empty trash, recycling, and grease containers as needed
  • safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • assist with scheduled deep-cleaning tasks
  • restock stations with clean dishes, utensils, and equipment
  • assist cooks and kitchen team with basic prep or item transport as needed
  • adhere to all company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • perform all other duties as assigned
