Job Requirements

  • Must be age 16 or older
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language
  • Promote teamwork in providing services to residents
  • Follow state food-handling and kitchen regulations
  • Operation of basic kitchen appliances or willingness to learn
  • Working 3-3.75 hours per shift standing, walking, and moving about without the need to sit down
  • Willingness to learn and help others
  • Enjoyment in working with older adults
  • Some experience in food cleanup or preparation is preferred

Job Duties

  • Operate dishwasher and ensure proper sanitation of kitchenware including dishes, silverware, pots, pans, and trays
  • Hand wash kitchen items not suitable for the dishwasher
  • Store items in their proper spot and maintain a tidy and organized kitchen
  • Notify manager if dish machine malfunctions or requires maintenance
  • Clean equipment, appliances, storage area, and sinks according to schedule
  • Support kitchen staff with basic prep, item restock, or delivery of clean items when needed
  • Provide customer service to residents to allow a high level of resident satisfaction
  • Bus tables during and after meals and clear tables when residents are finished eating, as requested
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe kitchen environment as required by local and state health departments
  • Perform routine preventative cleaning on dish machine according to schedule
  • Other duties as assigned
