Job Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen items
- Ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards
- Sort and organize cleaned dishes and utensils in designated storage areas
- Ensure proper storage practices to maintain a well-organized and efficient kitchen
- Collaborate with kitchen and restaurant staff to maintain a smooth workflow
- Communicate effectively with chefs and servers to manage the flow of dirty and clean dishes
- Support kitchen staff by keeping work areas clean and sanitized
- Empty trash bins regularly and dispose of waste following proper procedures
- Keep dishwashing equipment clean and well-maintained
- Report any issues with equipment functionality to the manager
- Follow proper safety and sanitation guidelines, including the use of protective equipment
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel
- Work efficiently to handle a high volume of dishes during busy periods
- Manage time effectively to ensure a constant supply of clean dishes for kitchen operations
- Assist in other kitchen tasks as needed during peak hours or when required
- Be willing to take on additional responsibilities to support the overall functioning of the restaurant
