Job Description
Red Lobster is a renowned casual dining restaurant chain specializing in seafood, with more than fifty years of history rooted in family ownership and a heartfelt mission to bring people together through exceptional coastal cuisine. Originating from a single family-owned restaurant, Red Lobster has grown to encompass over 500 locations nationwide, each embodying the founders' passion and commitment to quality. The company prides itself on creating more than just meals — it fosters memorable experiences connecting customers through shared enjoyment of seafood delicacies and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Red Lobster is more than just a restaurant; it is an integral part of the local communities it serves, turning first-time visitors into familiar faces and regular patrons into extended family.
The Dishwasher/Utility role at Red Lobster is an essential position within the restaurant team, ensuring that cleanliness and order are maintained at all times to provide guests with a safe and pleasant dining environment. This role offers a great opportunity to be part of a vibrant team with flexible schedules, competitive weekly pay, and comprehensive benefits starting at less than 10 dollars per week, including medical, dental, and vision insurance. Additionally, employees receive life and short-term disability insurance along with voluntary benefits. The job includes a company 401(k) retirement savings plan with company contributions after one year of service, anniversary pay subject to eligibility, discounted meals during shifts, as well as a 25% discount when dining as a guest. More than just a job, Red Lobster offers career growth opportunities with thorough training and a supportive work culture aimed at helping employees develop and advance within the company.
Responsibilities involve meticulous cleaning and maintenance duties throughout the restaurant to ensure high standards of hygiene are consistently met. Dishwashers handle the sanitization of dishes, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using commercial washers and other equipment safely and efficiently. The role requires physically demanding tasks such as bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting items up to 30 pounds, as well as the ability to stand for long periods during 8 to 12-hour shifts. Teamwork is a cornerstone of the position, supporting kitchen staff with meal preparations including specialty items like the famed Cheddar Bay Biscuits, alongside other miscellaneous tasks as assigned. Every decision and action taken by the Dishwasher/Utility associate centers on customer satisfaction and team collaboration, adhering strictly to established sanitation and safety protocols.
Red Lobster stands out as an employer committed to inclusive hiring practices and a welcoming workplace for all individuals regardless of age, race, gender, disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics. Reasonable accommodations are available to enable employees with disabilities to perform their essential job functions successfully. As Red Lobster embarks on an exciting future with new plans and growth strategies, joining their workforce at this time means becoming part of a dynamic, caring, and forward-thinking family. This position represents a meaningful entry point into the hospitality industry with plenty of support, competitive pay, and valuable benefits.
